Volunteer Help Wanted!

The Reentry Council of the City and County of San Francisco is working with San Francisco's Mayor and Board of Supervisors to recruit two new members of the Council. In order to join, you must have experience within the criminal justice system having been in juvenile hall, jail or prison.

The Mayor’s office appointee must be between the ages of 18 and 24. The Board of Supervisors appointee must be formerly incarcerated in SF County Jail, a California state prison, and/or a US Bureau of Prisons Facility and also have expertise in providing services to people exiting the criminal justice system.

If you are formerly incarcerated, have strong opinions about reentry policies, and want to give back to your community, this may be the volunteer opportunity for you! If you are interested, please contact Karen Shain at to learn more about the Council and its membership.
